Each month this fall, parents and kids will have the
opportunity to experience the National Aviary
together. Get up close and cheek-to-beak with raptors, penguins and the rainforest. Create personal holiday cards - imagine your child pictured with a Red-fronted Macaw! Make a custom-colored penguin painting. Prepare breakfast and then feed the birds.
$60 adult member / $40 child member

Raptor's! Family Camp
Meet our owls, hawks and falcons and discover the secrets behind their stealth, strength and speed. Learn about falconry and try your hand at lure flying. Go behind the scenes in the raptor yard. Uncover what owls eat by dissecting their pellets. Maybe even hold an owl
on a glove!
October 6
10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Rainforest Adventure Family Camp
Visit the rainforest without leaving Pittsburgh! Discover the amazing birds and animals of this remarkable ecosystem. Meet macaws and other birds behind the scenes. Activities include a private Tropical Forest feeding, making enrichment for our birds, the Parrots of the Caribbean show, and a special "Taste of the Rainforest."
November 10
9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Family Photo Safari
Ever wonder what happens at the Aviary before the doors open? Come in early and get exclusive access to our birds at a time when they are especially active. This is a great time to create your holiday cards. With extra time added to the regular Tropical Forest Photo Safari, you can photograph the birds alone or with your family. It'll be a one-of-a-kind card friends and family will treasure. Each family can also make one custom-colored penguin painting to keep
or give as a memorable holiday gift.
Additional paintings will be available, with cost depending on the size.
December 29
9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Penguins! Family Camp
What do penguins eat? Become guest chefs and prepare breakfast for the Aviary's African penguins and attend a private feeding. Learn why these endangered
birds are so special. Camp includes a close-up encounter and an original masterpiece painted by one of
our penguins.
