Rainforest
Your students can experience the wonders of the rainforest through an immersive encounter with our rainforest birds and an interactive multimedia presentation. Students will gain an appreciation for the rainforest biome, home to nearly half of the world’s plant and animal species.

What’s For Lunch?
Students develop problem solving skills by comparing appropriate tools with the functions that a bird’s beak performs. Students can examine model bird beaks and live birds to discover how birds use their beaks to eat different foods.

Owl Detectives
Did you know that owls really aren’t as smart as we’ve been told? Get up close and personal with these amazing hunters and learn about the adaptations that allow them to live and survive in the wild. Add an owl pellet dissection to this program for only an additional $2.25 per student and let your students d use their detective skills to discover what owls eat in the wild. See Owl Pellet Add-on below for more information.

Amazing Adaptations
What makes a bird a bird? Find out the answer to this question and more as the National Aviary introduces students to the diverse world of birds and their amazing adaptations! Live birds and a variety of bird feathers, beaks, and feet will be used to teach your students about this fascinating group of animals.

I Want to Be a Vet
From dogs and cats to birds, fish, and turtles, all the animals that people keep at home, on farms, and in zoos sometimes get sick or hurt and medical care. In this program, students can explore the exciting world of veterinary medicine and learn what it takes to work in an animal hospital. They will help take care of some “plush” patients and hear how our veterinary department cares for its fine-feathered patients.

Mythbusters

Owl Pellet Add-on
Give your students hands-on experience with owl pellets. Add this 30-minute experience to Carnivores, Amazing Adaptations, Mythbusters or BIRDiversity. Program includes supplies, instructions, and educational materials. Price: $75 plus $2.25 per student. Limit 40 students.
