Director of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Fish is a formally trained zoo veterinarian. She graduated from veterinary school at the University of Florida and then specialized in zoo medicine by completing two internships and a residency. Dr. Fish has trained in 20 zoos, multiple wildlife centers, been an Associate Professor, conducted wildlife and zoo research, founded an exotic pet hospital, published veterinary articles, and lectured at professional conferences. This experience is used to reach the Aviary’s goal of providing the highest quality care for the birds and raising awareness of health care.
