A select group of the National Aviary’s birds are starring in the recently released book Bird, by photographer and filmmaker Andrew Zuckerman.

Photo shoot at the National Aviary

In this new book, Zuckerman features nearly 75 species of birds, nearly half of them taken at the National Aviary in 2008. The book’s more than 200 photos are shot against a stark white background to allow the complexity of color and texture to shine, with each bird depicted with rare insight and humor.

This beautiful book makes a great gift, and is available in the National Aviary gift shop.
