The National Aviary is a wonderful setting to practice your photography skills and capture the beauty of nature on film. Our free-flight exhibits create the perfect environment for photographing birds as they fly, eat, bathe and play. Many will even approach for an extreme close-up!
Nonprofessional photographers who wish to take photos for personal, noncommercial use are welcome to take photos in any of the public areas of the facility.
The National Aviary is also pleased to partner with professional photographers interested in photographing the birds at the National Aviary. Professional photographers are required to complete a copy of the National Aviary's photo policy (
